Iditarod Dog Musher
IT TAKES A TEAM!

Dog mushing is an incredibly expensive sport. Not only do our dogs require the best nutrition in kibble and meat for their optimal performance which is a hefty cost all on its own, but the gear used in dog mushing is very extensive and specialized. Even down to the booties that the dogs wear on their paws cost $1.16 / bootie. Through the 2025/26 training season we estimate to use over 4,000 booties!
With the Iditarod start just a few months down the trail, we will also need to provide the $4,000 entry fee which covers the cost of the straw and heating fuel for our cook pots during the race as well as the cost to get it there. Our additional supplies for Iditarod, like dog food, human food, socks, gloves, extra headlamp batteries, supplements and vitamins, extra runner plastics for the sled, extra dog booties, and vet supplies (to name a few) all will be acquired and shipped out closer to the race at the musher's cost. Shipping alone can cost between $1,000 - $2,000.
Any contributions made help alleviate these costs and allow us to spend more time with the dogs training and preparing. Dog mushing is a team sport and we wouldn't be able to do what we do without your support! THANK YOU!
