The Iditarod, often referred to as "the Last Great Race" is one of the most well known dog races, spanning over 1000 miles from Anchorage to Nome. The Iditarod remains a challenging and iconic event that tests the endurance and skill of both mushers and their canine athletes, while also serving as a reminder of Alaska's rich history and the important role of sled dogs.
